Harbor Pointe - Book Review

Harbor Pointe is the newest book in Irene Hannon's popular contemporary romance series, Hope Harbor. Whether you're an avid fan of the series or have never heard of it, this sweet contemporary romance is an enjoyable read. If you liked Blackberry Beach by Hannon, you will love Harbor Pointe.

Plot Summary

When her sister Laura has a serious medical emergency, principle ballerina Devyn Lee drops everything and flies to the small town of Hope Harbor, even though their relationship is rocky at best. As she helps Laura while she recovers, Devyn hopes to heal the breach between them. In order to extend her trip and her time with Laura, she volunteers to help the local charity put on Oklahoma.

Aaron Steele knows glitzy women like Devyn don't fall for mill workers like him, but that doesn't stop the zing of attraction when he meets the ballerina. As she works with his daughter Isabel in the upcoming production, his mischievous grandfather eggs him on in pursuing Devyn. With Devyn's departure looming closer, will she and Aaron take a chance and find a way to let their budding, unlikely romance flourish?

Personal Thoughts

It's always wonderful to revisit the Hope Harbor. The series has always been a sweet, light read and Harbor Pointe followed the example of the previous books. As always, it's wonderful to see reoccurring characters like Charlie the taco man and the dueling clergymen. This is one of my favorite books in the series.

The tension between Laura and Devyn was believable without being dramatic. I liked how they were able to resolve their issues in a mature way. Isabel was adorable and Aaron's matchmaking grandfather was one of my favorite characters. While Aaron and Devyn were an unlikely couple, it was sweet to see them fall in love. I thought it was neat how Hannon brought back characters from Sandpiper Cove and tied up that storyline in the side plot.
