Hope Like Wildflowers - Book Review

Hope Like Wildflowers by Pepper Basham is less of a romance and more of a story about second chances. Interestingly, the story is based off one of Basham's family members. If you have enjoyed the rest of the series, you will love Hope Like Wildflowers.

Plot Summary

After having a child out of wedlock with her employer, Kizzie McAdams chooses to end her relationships with him and strike out on her own in search for a new life. Her new faith and reliance on God strengthens her as she starts over and with the help of her friends she's able to secure a job that will support her and her son. What she doesn't count on is a new friend in the shape of a quiet widower with a gentle heart who is unlike her baby's father in so many ways.

Widower Noah Lewis's life is turned upside down when Kizzie helps him during a snowstorm and immediately captures his attention. But his main focus is on his family's mill, which is financially failing, and not on a single mother with an adorable son. However, Kizzie possesses the skills to uncover why the mill is suffering and help Noah. As they work to save the mill, Noah and Kizzie realize God may be giving them a second chance for a new beginning, one that will bring them together.

Personal Thoughts

If you've read the previous two books, you're aware of the mystery surrounding Kizzie and what happened to her after she left home. All of our questions are answered in this book! Kizzie's struggles were real and I felt so bad for her. Charles was a scoundrel and I was glad when Kizzie chose to leave him. On the other hand, Noah was the best, very sweet and kind. The faith element and message were particularly strong in this story. Overall, the ending was perfect for both the book and the series!
