Spies, Lies, and Alibis - Book Review

Spies, Lies, and Alibis - Book Review

Spies, Lies, and Alibis is the first book I've read by Natalie Walters and it won't be my last! This books was a cross between a romcom and a romantic suspense novel. It is funny, suspenseful, and way too much fun. If you liked Without a Clue by Melissa Ferguson, you will love Spies, Lies, and Alibis.

Plot Summary

Special Agent Ben Bradley has spent the last eighteen months working undercover in order to trap criminal mastermind Lorenzo Ramirez. His cover is nearly blown when his high school crush Cybil Langford bursts on the scene - and appears to be in the thick of the crime.

Cybil Langford has orders from her own contact to take down her boss and find out how Ben fits into the puzzle. When both are sent on a trip to Italy, each sees the other as a potential asset to getting to the bottom of their respected cases. With old flames sparking and mistrust on both sides, what could possibly go wrong?

Personal Thoughts

The case was intricate and I didn't know what would happen next. Lorenzo was a terrifying crime lord; I was always worried about what he would do next. The final twist at the end caught me by surprise and upped the stakes even more. I couldn't put it down.

Cybil and Ben were a hoot. Their banter coupled with their undercover identities made for some lively conversations and magnificent side-stepping around the truth. The way they dodged each other made me laugh and I cheered when they got together.
